City centre gay bar located near to Embrace at the back of John Lewis. Although the future of the venue is short term it continues to be a growing influence on Sheffield's Gay Scene. The venue is due to be demolished to make way for the new Sevenstone Retail Quarter development. Lion's Lair is a relatively small venue but is extremely popular at weekends with its famous after-parties going on until the early hours.

Lion's Lair is a quaint old place situated halfway between Affinity and Dempsey's. It's sad that this place is likely to close sometime in 2009 because it has such a lot going for it. In the meantime, the compact bar area makes it an intimate space to chat with friends. At weekends it gets a bit too busy for comfort but it means you get close up to some tasty boys! I love the beer garden because it is so intimate and private. Well done to the management for taking on a challenge when the place could easily be boarded up and left to die.

The Lion's Lair has roared into the hearts of the Sheffield Gay Scene. Despite uncertainty over its future the venue continues to work hard at creating a vibrant place for the city's young gays. The place may have its critics, but you cannot deny the enthusiasm of management at driving the business forward. In fact no other Sheffield venue comes near the number of promotional nights that Lion's Lair churns out.

The place may be tired largely due to the understanding reluctance to invest in a property that will soon be demolished. However, Lion's Lair is quickly developing as the place to party through the night. The Friday and Saturday night after-parties are reaching legendary status if not putting noses out at more established venues. Conveniently located in the city centre this has a lot going for it!

The students are back in town, but Monday's tend to be one of the quieter nights. However, the cheap drinks offers makes it a welcoming place to go with £1 drinks on a selection of bottled lager, alcopops and vodka mixers. If you fancy a quiet night out and a chat with friends then Lion's Lair is the perfect place to be tonight.

Another one for those who like it quiet. Lion's Lair makes it another cheap night if you're watching the pennies. A pleasant atmosphere makes it a welcome change to the hustle of the weekend.

Lions Lair is now the meeting place for both LGBT groups in the city on a Tuesday night after their meetings at respective Universities.The music is a little more chilled out and quieter so that people can chat as more of a social event than a night of partying. And remember you can make use of the three new heat lamps for those of you that smoke. Lions Lair has arguably the best 'Gay' smoke area in town!

TFI Thursdays we will have a different theme EVERY week, for the most up-to-date information and invites join the TFI group on facebook. Lions Lair have recently introduced Beat the DJ. Friday is the first OFFICIAL Pre and After Bar to nowhere! Open till 6am EVERY Friday - perfect for continuing your weekend into the early hours! Sheffield DJ Carl Dean is now the new messiah, playing at Lion's Lair after-parties from 3am till 6am every friday night!

Saturdays is the second OFFICIAL Pre and After Bar to nowhere! Open till 6am for you to party into the early hours of Sunday morning. Look out for top DJs  between 3am and 6am. The middle Saturday of the month sees the winner of the 'Beat the DJ' comp while DJ Tyronnster is confirmed for every last Saturday. A favourite for barstaff from other Sheffield Gay Venues who want to get in on the action. 

After the extremities of the late nights Lion's Lair reverts to a more sedate atmosphere. Open from 5pm for quiet drinks and a few tired looking faces who can't stay away! Definitely one for the quiet minded person this is all about relaxing before the week ahead. Easy to get served and loads of places to find a seat.
